About Me

As a writer, I envision myself constantly striving to learn more and challenge my perspective with something new. In the Writing and Rhetoric Program at UCF, I learned the art of creating action with words, experiencing a new threshold of knowledge that allows me to connect to a wide range of audiences and speak to a variety of topics. In general though, I am passionate about pursuing a change for society that would eliminate stigma about mental illnesses and invigorate people who need to have their stories told, their voices heard. My minor in Diversity and Social Inequality has also helped grow my passion from a curious interest into a base of substantial knowledge that prepares me for addressing institutionalized inequality, oppression, and discrimination. I hope to help create a better system for underprivileged people to have accessibility and agency in their lives.

As an editor, I envision myself to become a consultant that my clients and my audience respect, as well as trust. I will grow the skills that I developed through working at the University Writing Center to create an environment of collaborative growth with the text at hand. My priority is not only to help form words that are usable by an audience, but also to craft these words until they feel like a breath of fresh air.

As a writer, I embrace my unique perspective on life and am committed to being courageous in telling my stories. I've always felt that to grow we must be comfortable with being uncomfortable, so I will continue to challenge myself in order to increase my capacity to help others. To me, helping others is a way to feel fulfilled, and in writing I can do that by allowing myself to be vulnerable and inviting my audience to be better with me. Therefore, a central component to both my philosophy on life and in writing is, above all else, be honest.
